Applications on Windows Phone 7

11 12 2010

What apps do I use on a day to day basis? So far I have found a handful of apps that I use daily and a plethora of applications that are missing. The main point is that the app store or “Marketplace” is in its infancy so it should get better. But with developers making applications for iPhone, Android and WP7 in that order it will mean that WP7 is playing catch up all the time. Hopefully Microsoft will address this and make it attractive to make applications on their platform, I know they had a similar issue with the xbox when it was released but they are now firmly entrenched in that market. Another gripe I had was the lack of titles using the LiveTile.

Gaming on Windows Phone 7

2 12 2010

One of the attractive parts of Windows Phone 7 was the ability to use xbox live and have access to my gamer tag. I’ve downloaded quite a few games since I got my Windows Phone 7 so I can play games while Lucy sleeps on me or on the train on the way to work. The amount of quality games already available on the Marketplace is quite impressive and extensive compared to other application categories its obvious that Micrsoft see this as one of the main selling points for WP7.

26 11 2010

I’ve been selected to participate in Telstra’s latest Social Review – This time of the HTC Mozart (Windows Phone 7). New Home for Blog

25 11 2010

I’ve decided to relocate my blog, half because I’m a tight arse and half because wordpress just seems so much easier. Since I last really used my blog my first child was born, We named her Lucy and she has taken up most of my time so my running has fallen by the way side. I’m looking forward to kicking it back off in the summer months and with the opening of our Gym at work should be a good way to get back on the fitness bandwagon.

I did manage to run the half marathon at the Perth City 2 Surf and that went ok. It went well, didn’t set a PB or anything but it was nice to get through it. These sort of big events remind me why I enjoy running, so with the running season almost over I’ll be gearing up for next year.
